Does emit () hava a duplicate copy of passing data?

Does emit () hava a duplicate copy of passing data?

I want to know about emit () . Does it hava a duplicate data ? If I have
to pass a byte array of 1 mb through it the how many copies of that
bytearray will exist in memory?
